Our BuildingLocated in the historic Gilbreath Building on Third Avenue North, in the heart of Birmingham’s downtown financial district, are the law offices of Benton & Centeno, LLP. Built in 1891, the three story Victorian structure that houses our offices is a registered historic landmark. In the early years, it served as a general store, a furniture store, and, as shown in an old black and white photograph that hangs just beyond the main level lobby, as an Acme Paint Store. The building, which features exposed brick walls and a skylight that illuminates the main level hallway and many of the second and third floor offices, was renovated for use as an office building in 1986. Further restoration and renovation was completed in 2000, and Benton & Centeno, LLP moved into the newly renovated space.
The firm’s main lobby, reception area and conference rooms occupy the main/ground level of the building. The lobby features high ceilings, exposed brick, and a staircase leading to the upper floors. A break room and an exercise facility for the firm’s employees are also located on the main level. Offices of attorneys and staff are located on levels two and three, and a mezzanine level holds the firm’s law library and provides space for additional staff and on-site file storage. Although the entire building has been renovated, the building offers plenty of room to expand, consistent with the firm’s plans for growth. |
